Dubrovnik's winter magic continues with numerous Dubrovnik Winter Festival programmes held during its third week all over the City. On Saturday, the world's most beautiful open air stage, the Stradun, will play host to the popular band Pavel, while Christmas tale will come true at the Rixos Libertas Dubrovnik Hotel.
This year too, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board will organise a Christmas Tale within the Dubrovnik Winter Festival. Because of bad weather forecast, it will be held on 16 December in the Rixos Libertas Hotel congress hall at 11.00 am, instead of the Stradun. An entertaining programme for the youngest visitors includes the Mak Theatre from Zagreb with a play The Snow Track, the Ad Libidum Trio of Elves, the Dubrovnik Children's Choir, the Lazareti Dance Studio, Le Petite Festival and Linđo's treasure.
The Colourful Winter at the Bay of Lapad will feature an extensive children's programme on the small stage next to the fountain. The performers appearing this Saturday between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm include the 3V Dance Studio, the Aster Association and their play for children, and musicians Nika Bjelovučić and Elza Filipović. In case of bad weather, the programme will be postponed for Sunday.
On 16 December, the 3rd Advent candle symbolising joy will be lighted in front of Dubrovnik Cathedral at 7.30 pm, followed by a sermon by Father Mihael Mario Tolj, parish priest of the Church of St Cross in Gruž.
From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm Klapa Kolafjaka will sing from Brsalje, through Gundulić Square, to Prijeko. The Pavel band will appear in a concert in the Stradun at 9.00 pm.
On Sunday morning of 17 December, the Female Klapa Linđo will sing from one street corner to another, between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon. At 11.00 am, a real fairy tale will take place in Teddy Bear Park, with Santa's helpers, elves and characters from fairy tales. This Sunday too, the entertainment corner will feature old games, make-up corner, and a merry dance organised by the Lazareti Dance Studio and the Le Petit Festival du Théâtre Association.
Advent Sunday afternoons in Mokošica are reserved for a variety of entertainment programmes held at 3.00 pm on the sports ground near the Kiss Café. This Sunday, visitors of all generations will have fun with the Zumba Kids and Zumba Teens, Maro and Baro tales, holiday games, Santa's karaoke and Mrs. Claus' special photo booth. The Dubrovnik-based Valetudo band will appear at 5:30 pm. In case of bad weather, the programmes will be held at the Mokošica Elementary School.
